Hyderabad: BRS party working president KTR on Tuesday alleged that if the BRS government tried to set up a pharma city in Hyderabad, the Congress government was not going ahead with the project. He said some 12,000 acres of land had been acquired in several villages, including Mucharla for establishment of Pharma city.
“But the Congress government had announced several times that it had cancelled the project. If the project is cancelled, the farmers should be told when their lands will be returned,” he added. KTR recalled that in the past, Congress leaders Kodanda Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Sridhar Babu and CM Revanth Reddy had announced that the pharma city lands would be returned to the farmers.
During the discussion on the heads of the annual budget in the assembly, KTR asked when the land would be returned to the farmers if the pharma city was abolished. KTR expressed concern over the huge increase in the cost of Musi river beautification project. He said his government had completed 100 per cent of the work on the sewerage treatment plant, which is crucial for the Musi river beautification project. KTR reminded that his party government had also completed the designs at a cost of Rs 16,000 crore.
